NOVEMBER, 2022

Braiding SweetGrass

I find the chill and soft light of November always kindles a yearning for comfort and self care. If you’re dreaming of curling up with a good book after a crisp afternoon walk, I have the perfect read for you!

In honor of American Indian Heritage Month, I want to recommend Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and the Teachings of Plants, by Botanist, professor of plant ecology, and Potawatomi woman, Robin Wall Kimmerer.

Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and the Teachings of Plants

During the pandemic I took to walking daily through the forest Iistening to books about our relationship with nature. Learning about plants and trees helped keep me grounded and hopeful amidst these difficult times. I hope you find some time to reconnect with our most precious life-source during this season of gratitude.
